ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Nancy Wulff has lived in the Bay Area of California for most of her life, studying art at San Jose State University and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Art education. She taught adult drawing and painting for 20 years in Cupertino, while practicing and creating her own works of art. She was also a member of Gallery 9 in Los Altos for two decades.

She is now expressing her love of nature in cold wax-oils. She enjoys the spontaneity and surprises of the medium. Its tools enable her to play with color and texture, layering and moving with the medium to create new abstract forms. Nature and humanity provide her with the inspiration for painting whether it's a bucolic landscape or a lively scene from a dancehall. She captures the essence of the subject with gesture and color, and enjoys playing with transparencies and opaqueness for joyful expression.

With all her art, she builds an emotional connection, fusing light, hues, lines, expressions, and moods to capture the essence of the subject and celebrate life.

She currently lives in Morgan Hill with her husband, Bob, and dog, Rocco, and she is frequently found playing on the pickle ball courts and walking through the countryside - finding her next inspiration in the clouds and community, in the setting sunset and the play of light on the green hills and oak woodlands.
